How Ireland INC can help Irish companies to expand its US activities
Helping Ireland’s largest connectivity network company to develop its expansion plans by influencing key industry partners and engaging with political and business leaders in the US.
On March 11th 2019, one hundred and eighty Irish and US political and business leaders convened at the 9th annual Ireland Day Leadership Breakfast at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), where a panel of speakers discussed the future of the Irish-US economic partnership and how to strengthen it in the face of global political changes.
On that occasion, the Ireland INC US 250, a heat-map and monitored living Index of 250 Irish companies investing or operating in the US, was released and this unique publication can now be downloaded online.
Ireland Day
Dubbed by many as the ‘Irish Davos’, the Ireland Day Leadership Breakfast offers an unique C-suite engagement platform to Irish companies operating or investing in the United States. Business and political leading figures participating in the event previously included US Senator George Mitchell, Julie Sinnamon (CEO, Enterprise Ireland), US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, Congressman Richard Neal, Martin Shanahan (CEO, IDA Ireland), Anne Heraty (CEO, Cpl), Herb Kelleher (Co-founder, Southwest Airlines), and Anne Anderson (former Irish Ambassador to the US) to name but a few.
“Ireland is the single country that has a dedicated day at the NYSE. It really speaks to the strength of the business relations between the two countries.” – Anne Anderson as former Irish Ambassador to the US.
Magnet Networks and Ireland INC
The event is an excellent opportunity to gain visibility and influence a very specific and high-level community with one-to-one meetings. The Ireland Day Leadership Breakfast was held at the same time as the St Patrick’s Day celebrations in US where many Irish business and political figures (for example Martin Shanahan, CEO of IDA Ireland, or Niall Gibbons, CEO of Tourism Ireland) travelled to the US to celebrate Irish-American relations with their American counterparts. Last March 14th, An Taoiseach Leo Varadkar started celebrations by breakfasting with Vice-President Mike Pence, was feted at a lunch on Capitol Hill attended by Donald Trump, and then finished the day at the White House for the traditional handover of shamrocks to the US president.

Opportunities provided by Ireland INC
The United States represents a natural market opportunity for Irish businesses and the figures speak for themselves: 800 Irish companies operate in the US market and over 100,000 people are employed by Irish companies in the US.
Magnet Networks decided to support Ireland INC C-Suite engagement platform to reach key local partners and establish its expertise as a global connectivity network partner for businesses. While expanding its business globally, Magnet Networks Group CEO Mark Kellett sees the US market as “a natural extension of its activities.”
