Joe Kennedy III, Special Envoy to Northern Ireland for Economic Affairs, joined business leaders for a roundtable discussion, hosted by Ibec on June 20th, 2023.

Among the talking points was operating a business in the all island economy.

A representative from Ibec said: “Ibec was delighted to host US Special Envoy to Northern Ireland Joe Kennedy III for a roundtable discussion with businesses operating in the all island economy.”

Kennedy was appointed Special Envoy to Northern Ireland for Economic Affairs in December 2022.

“In this capacity, he will focus on advancing economic development and investment opportunities in Northern Ireland to the benefit of all communities as well as strengthening people-to-people ties between the United States and Northern Ireland,” said the US secretary of state, Antony Blinken.

Kennedy participated in a roundtable discussion at the 11th annual Ireland Day at the New York Stock Exchange. It was chaired by Ian Hyland, President of Ireland INC, who was joined alongside Kennedy by Congressman Richard Neal, Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, and other US and Irish business and political leaders.
