Platinum Advisors has announced that William Tranghese will be joining the firm’s rapidly expanding Washington, DC office as Senior Vice President, further enhancing the firm’s expertise and advocacy strength.
A 32-year veteran of Capitol Hill, Tranghese has served as Chief of Staff for Congressman Richard E. Neal, Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, since 2016. He began his career on Capitol Hill in 1989 when he joined Neal’s office as Legislative Assistant.
Just three years since opening at The Wharf in DC’s Southwest waterfront, Platinum Advisors DC now boasts nearly two dozen federally registered clients across a range of industry sectors, including tech, transportation, entertainment, municipalities, cannabis, and distilled spirits.
With longstanding offices in Sacramento and San Francisco, Platinum Advisors has stood at the forefront of California’s premier public advocacy landscape since its founding by political operative Darius Anderson in the late 1990s.
“Billy Tranghese is, pun intended, the Platinum Standard among Capitol Hill staffers. He brings a wealth of substantive experience, procedural expertise, and extensive relationships to our team and our clients,” stated Erik Huey, President of Platinum Advisors, DC.
“We’ve been working with Billy Tranghese for years and have been thoroughly impressed by his public policy and political acumen. He’s a perfect fit for Platinum at this point in our growth,” added Platinum Founder Darius Anderson.
“I am tremendously enthusiastic about joining the Platinum Advisors family. Their cutting-edge client base, coupled with the firm’s energetic and creative approach to complex advocacy, make it the ideal platform for me,” stated William Tranghese.
He continued: “I look forward to working with Darius, Erik and the accomplished team they are building.”
For more than 20 years, Tranghese was Congressman Neal’s Communications Director and spokesperson working with local, state, national and international press on a daily basis. Since the 1990’s he has been the principal staff contact for the bi-partisan Friends of Ireland Caucus working directly with Members of Congress and both the Irish and British governments to help strengthen the relationship between the United States, Ireland and the United Kingdom. He has worked at every Democratic Convention since 2000 as a member of the Podium Operations staff helping to coordinate day-to-day logistics of the convention.
In 2007, Tranghese helped establish the Belfast-Beltway Boxing Project, a non-profit organisation that helps disadvantaged youths and their Boxing Clubs in the United States and Ireland. He is a native of Springfield, Massachusetts and attended Cathedral High School and Springfield College.
